What is there to see and do in the area?

The Inn is situated in the town of Bearden, on the North side of Glasgow. Its location means that it is not only the perfect place to head for a meal after a day out in Glasgow but is also a great stopping point on the way back from Loch Lomond.

A 10 minute drive from The Inn is the Glasgow Botanic Gardens which is full of wooded walks and stunning floral displays. Kibble palace, a huge curved iron glasshouse located in the grounds, is definitely a spectacle to be seen. After that wonder down Byres Road and soak up the West End atmosphere

Glasgow Cathedral is one of Scotland's architectural treasures. The only building to survive the reformation of 1560 intact. Next to the cathedral is the Provand's Lordship - the oldest house in Glasgow which dates back to 1471. Glasgow's finest example of 19th century architectural excellence has to be the Glasgow City Chambers where free tours are available every day from 10.30am.

For a true taste of culture visit the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is only 15 minutes drive away from The Inn. Featuring works by Van Gogh, Monet and Glasgow's own Charles Rennie Mackintosh its Glasgow's showcase attraction. Or, in the heart of the city, the Gallery of Modern Art houses four floors of contemporary painting, sculpture and installations from around the world along with a series of outstanding temporary exhibits.

Just north of Glasgow is the Glengoyne Distillery, only 10 miles from The Inn. A complimentary dram of whiskey awaits you on arrival at Glengoyne before you take a tour around the distillery.

If you should get bored with the hundreds of attractions in Glasgow then Loch Lomond is just a 35 minute drive away from The Inn. With stunning scenery it's definitely worth a visit.
